Treatment for Allergies San Diego

The symptoms you can expect from allergies include nasal congestion, sneezing, itchy eyes, and watery eyes. To treat the nasal congestion, you can purchase a sinus rinse bottle which works to clear blocked nasal passages. You just stick the tip up your nostril and then squeeze the bottle to release the liquid medication. Do the same for the other nostril afterward.

If you were to go to a doctor, they will likely recommend for you to take antihistamines. You can save money by purchasing antihistamines over the counter instead of through a prescription. This particular drug works to provide relief for your eyes and nose. It is not recommended that you take them for a long-term period.

If your congestion symptoms are bad, you will need to take a decongestant. You can also purchase these over-the-counter and they’ll do wonders for your lungs and nasal passages. Just be aware of possible side effects like high blood pressure, insomnia, nervousness, and rapid heartbeat.

Inside your home, you can take preventive action against indoor allergens by regularly cleaning your furniture and vacuuming your rug. Dust mites are common in San Diego and they can cause your allergies to flare up. It is best to keep your place clean so that dust mites do not find their way to you.

The Benefits of Probiotics

2/27/2018 - written by Perlman Clinic

The wellness community and the staff at Perlman Clinic/ has been talking a lot about the benefits of good bacteria which exists in our body’s gut. This has sparked an increased interested in consuming probiotic supplements. However, many people still don’t understand what good bacteria does.

Researchers are discovering that good bacteria affect our gut flora and even determines our mood. Overall, the bacteria promote the health of our immune system and digestive system.

In modern times, it is much more difficult to maintain the proper amount of gut flora because of all the toxins, medications, and chemicals that we are exposed to on a daily basis. Things like antibiotics, food preservatives, pesticides, and chlorinated water and all destroy these good bacteria. Even people suffering from chronic stress will have an imbalance of good bacteria. Once this happens, it paves the way for bad bacteria to take its place. These bad bacteria include parasites, yeast, and fungus.

The only way to prevent bad bacteria from entering your gut is to balance out the good bacteria and make sure it stays there. That way, the good bacteria and fight the bad bacteria and keep your immune system and digestive system healthy. By taking probiotics, it is increasing the number of good bacteria which can detoxify your system and help you absorb nutrients more efficiently. If you have been taking too many antibiotics, the probiotics can balance the negative effects of that as well.

Stopping Harmful Invaders

The number of good bacteria species that live in our gut is in the hundreds. A healthy body is one where the number of good bacteria is more than the number of cells. When organisms enter the body, they first go to the digestive tube and approach the gut flora. This is where the battle takes place between good bacteria and bad bacteria. The good bacteria are like an army trying to protect its fort from the enemy invaders. The more good bacteria you have, the better you will be able to fight these harmful invading organisms. That is what makes probiotics so important to take because it will make your immunity very strong.

Better Absorption of Nutrients

The gut flora is like the fermentation system of your body. What you may not realize is that good bacteria have digestive systems of their own which are not like ours. Good bacteria do things to the foods we eat that our own digestive system can’t do. For example, we all need lots of B-Vitamins to stay healthy, such as biotin and folate. When we consume foods with these nutrients, the good bacteria must digest them first. Afterward, the body is able to absorb these nutrients for its own health. If something interferes with this process and the body can’t absorb those nutrients, we will develop skin problems, reduced energy levels, and brain fogginess. So, by taking probiotics, it will allow the body to absorb the B Vitamins and sustain your health in these areas.

Better Detoxification Everyday

The main detoxification area of the body is the gut flora. Since it is constantly being used, it needs to be replenished with more probiotics quite often. The liver is the main organ of the body for removing toxins. The liver depends on the gut flora to remove as many toxins as possible so that it doesn’t have to work as hard. Without a healthy gut flora, the liver will be doing double the work.

The consumption of probiotic supplements will keep the gut flora healthy and strong. This will allow it to filter a lot of the toxins found in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. Lactobacillus is a type of probiotic which helps filter out heavy metals from being absorbed. Therefore, anyone looking to eat clean from now on should add probiotic supplements to their diet regimen.

Medical experts still don’t fully understand everything there is to know about good bacteria which exists in our environment and gut. What they really don’t understand all that well is how to add more good bacteria to the gut for the sake of good health. However, research has proven that consuming probiotics will enhance a person’s health. They have the ability to fight off a significant amount of toxins that we come across each day. Most importantly, they have been proven to improve nutrient absorption, immune system health, and digestion. Anyone on antibiotics who is experiencing negative symptoms will see benefits from probiotics too. For more information please visit one of our many urgent care locations in San Diego County!
