Bridget Ross FNP-C

“FNP, Friend, Advocate”

Bridget Ross is a Southern California native who grew up in the beach side community of San Clemente. A lover of anything associated with the beach or ocean, Bridget enjoys sailing, surfing, ocean swimming, running on the beach and lazy days spent reading a good book and listening to the ocean waves crash.

She attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo for undergraduate, then moved to Nantucket Island to teach sailing for some time before starting nursing school and getting her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Rochester in upstate New York. She then worked as an oncology inpatient RN in an inner city teaching hospital. After three years of being a RN, Bridget went back to school and obtained her Master’s Degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. A member of both Sigma Theta Tau and the American Associate of Nurse Practitioners, Bridget is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

New York was educational and enjoyable, but also produced very cold, long, snowy winters and was much too far from the beach, so Bridget moved back to sunny Southern California after obtaining her California NP license. Although her passion is oncology, Bridget thoroughly enjoys primary care because there is such opportunity to see a myriad of medical issues. If she had to choose an aspect of primary care she enjoys the most it would be preventative medicine or chronic medical care management. Her favorite part of working in healthcare is meeting and interacting with patients, getting to know them on a personal level. Being able to be an advocate for the patients and their health is a blessing.

Bridget met her husband, a Marine Corps officer stationed at Camp Pendleton, after moving back to California, and they recently bought a small house in Carlsbad. They have two rescue dogs, one very old and one quite young-both very needy! In their free time, they enjoy working out together, the beach (of course), and attempting home improvement projects, as well as attending a local church. However, most of their time now is dedicated to their new baby girl, born three months ago-the best part of their lives.
