David Crabtree, M.D.

Dr. Crabtree grew up in a farming and mining community in Virginia. He attended East Tennessee State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in history, graduating summa cum laude and with University Honors. While attending ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine, a school recognized for excellence in primary care training, Dr. Crabtree worked for US Senator Mark Warner on health and education policy. He graduated in the top 10% of his medical school class and with AOA honors.

Dr. Crabtree then moved west for internship in psychiatry and residency in preventive medicine at the University of California – San Diego. Dr. Crabtree also completed a master’s in public health epidemiology from San Diego State University during this time. He then completed fellowship training in addiction medicine at the University of Utah.

Dr. Crabtree has practiced in outpatient and telemedicine settings, focusing on primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine. He has special interest and expertise in evaluating and treating alcohol and opioid use disorders. Dr. Crabtree also enjoys teaching medical students and residents.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Crabtree enjoys coffee shops, spending time with friends and his Shiba Inu dog, and attending electronic dance music festivals.
