Dr. Black, a California native, is an Internal Medicine Physician. She has special interests in nutrition and weight loss. She is board certified in Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine. In 2020 she completed a Master’s Degree in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. She enjoys learning about her patients, their families and how their lifestyle shapes their overall health.
Dr. Black graduated from UCSD and attended medical school and residency at University of Wisconsin, Madison. She completed a research fellowship at UCSD. She has practiced hospital medicine and primary care since 2002. She attends conferences on functional medicine and integrative medicine topics and is a member of the American Society for Nutrition.
Dr. Black has homeschooled her daughter with autism-spectrum disorder, is involved in the special education community and leads a fulfilling life raising her family in Encinitas.
