Patient Testimonials

Fantastic experience!

Dr. Bruce is just great. She spent a ton of time with me and it was great to see an Endocrinologist/Primary Care Provider. First time in Hillcrest (usually in La Jolla) and it felt the same — quality care. Highly recommend

Hillcrest Primary Care

I can’t recommend Dr. Perlman enough

I have been a patient for many years and I was more than happy to follow her to her new office. I think physicians are under a tremendous amount of stress but I also think some of them use that to make excuses for poor personal service. Never felt that from her. Dr. P. has always been so kind and compassionate with me and I didn’t think twice about referring my girlfriend and family members. Her knowledge and patience and her kindness is what keeps me coming back. Just love her. Highly recommend.

Primary & Urgent Care San Diego FAQ

There are times when getting medical attention is urgent and you might wonder if you should go to the Emergency Room or an Urgent Care Clinic? Under many circumstances going to an Urgent Care Clinic is much quicker. Emergency Rooms can be very chaotic and you could wait a very long time to get treatment. Here are some suggestions to help you determine if you should seek an Urgent Care Clinic or the Emergency Room:

You are more than welcome to just walk into Perlman Clinic or call ahead of time to schedule an appointment. If you want to make sure you can be seen at a specific time, we suggest calling to schedule an appointment. 858.554.1212

Generally, your wait time will be brief, unlike an emergency room that can take several hours. From the time you walk in the door, Perlman Clinic will usually see you within 20 minutes (if you’re a new patient, after paperwork is completed) and in some cases even in less time than that. That said, during busy days or hours, the wait could be long. If you want to make sure you can be seen at a specific time, we suggest calling to schedule an appointment.

An urgent care clinic is usually a great deal less expensive than an emergency room. Emergency rooms can be quite expensive while an urgent care clinic is approximately one-third the cost.

Just like any doctor’s office, the first time you visit you should bring your current medical insurance card, a driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID and your current medication bottles (or a list of which medications and the dosages). If you have any paperwork that provides information regarding past treatments or tests that have been performed, bring them as well.

We accept most insurances so generally you can use your insurance for payment. That said, many insurances require a co-pay that we collect at the time of the visit.

A list of the insurances we take can be found HERE

It’s good to note that we take most commercial insurances and medicare. Feel free to call us at 858.554.1212 with any questions about insurance.

A Message from Perlman Clinic

As a primary care provider and urgent care in San Diego County, our medical practice model has been successful with our patients, our staff, our physicians and our physician assistants. Our providers hope to deliver quality care and to establish a long-term relationship with new patients. Unlike many primary care and urgent care San Diego facilities, our primary care providers are not prescheduled at 3 or 4 patients per hour. Perlman Clinic generally preschedules our primary care physicians and physician assistants with 2 visits per hour. That way they have the ability to see walk-in or same day patients. In other words, they are available for what is commonly called urgent care and walk-in care medical services. Yet, they are able to have a comfortable schedule – which means they can provide quality medical care and also maintain a quality life. And that last part – that our providers maintain a quality life style – is very important to our culture. Perlman Clinic firmly believes that having happy medical care providers is a key component of quality medical care. Perlman Clinic staff includes physicians that practice family medicine, internal medicine, preventive medicine, endocrinology, neurology, integrative medicine and pain management. Our doctors, physician assistants and medical assistants will provide you with the medical care you need in a timely, personal and caring way. You will be treated as our valued patient, not some number or quota. Our motto – “Doctor, Friend, Advocate” – is what we want to be for all of our patients. We will be honored if you visit Perlman Clinic and give us a chance to provide you care.
