Justin Charles, M.D.

“Doctor, Friend, Advocate”

Dr. Justin Charles is an Internal Medicine physician passionate about using Lifestyle Medicine and spiritual principles to guide patients toward achieving health and well-being.

He completed his undergraduate degree in biology with a concentration in neurobiology and behavior at Cornell University, where he deepened his interest in the connection between mind, body, and spirit. He went on to earn his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and complete his residency in the Primary Care – Internal Medicine program at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Dr. Charles adopts a whole-person approach to primary care. He aims to uncover and address the root causes of disease using the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine—nutrition, physical activity, stress management, positive relationships, restorative sleep, and avoidance of risky substances. He believes the physician-patient relationship is central to healing and strives to foster an environment where patients can feel heard, seen, respected, and cared for. With additional training in motivational interviewing, he helps patients align their health goals with their core values, guiding them toward sustainable, meaningful changes. Dr. Charles is grateful for the opportunity to partner with and support his patients on their journey toward health, happiness, and wholeness.

Outside of work, Dr. Charles enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, boxing, meditating, cooking plant-based meals, and freestyle rapping. He believes in approaching life with creativity, connection, and mindfulness to best care for himself and others.
