Please submit prescription refills at least 4-5 days prior to running out. If using a mail order pharmacy submit requests 1-2 weeks prior. There are three ways to inform your provider of needed refills:

Preferred: Call pharmacy and have them send an electronic prescription refill request
Preferred: Login to MyChart and request prescription refill
Other options: Call office and request prescription refill

Allow 72 hours for a response on whether your refill request has been authorized or denied. Please know refill requests may be denied if you are due for an office visit and the following:

– Providers usually require office visits every 3-6 months for patients with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes
– For refills of birth control you will need an annual physical every year
– If it is a controlled substance please request 1 week in advance of running out. You are required to have an office visit every 3 months for management.
