“Doctor, Friend, Advocate”

Dr. Courtney O’Rourke is an Internal Medicine physician who cares for patients 18 years and up. She is originally from Massachusetts and grew up in a military family. She obtained her Doctor of Osteopathy from Des Moines University in Iowa. She then went on to complete an Internal Medicine residency in Pittsburgh, PA. From there, she took a position in Green Bay, WI. She and her family moved to San Diego 12 years ago.

Prior to joining our clinic, Dr. O’Rourke had been practicing as a hospitalist. A hospitalist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in the care of patients admitted to the hospital. Dr. O’Rourke had a strong desire to have patients who she could follow and care for outside of the hospital. She has a strong background in caring for patients with complex medical issues. She also has a passion for getting to know her patients as people and not just a diagnosis. She is dedicated to caring for the whole individual through thoughtful listening and joint decision making.

Outside of work, Dr. O’Rourke enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, riding her Peloton, traveling, movies and volunteering as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.
