Suzanne Calcutt FNP-BC

“FNP, Friend, Advocate”

Suzanne Calcutt is a Family Nurse Practitioner board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from San Diego State University. She was born and raised in Minnesota but has resided in the San Diego area for over 20 years. During this time, she served in the healthcare field as a registered nurse in the hospital starting in acute care followed by 8 years in the emergency department. Despite loving emergency medicine, Suzanne knew if she really wanted to make a difference in the lives of her patients, she needed to reach them before they encountered major health problems such as kidney failure, a heart attack or a debilitating stroke. While earning a Master of Science degree in nursing from Cedarville University she worked as a case manager in the rehabilitation department which further expanded her desire to help people before they experienced devastating effects from years of poor health maintenance. She wants her patients to be healthy and active for as long as possible.

Throughout her nursing career, she has maintained a strong passion for improving public health and safety in both local and global communities. She is a licensed public health nurse and holds a master certificate in global public health. She has participated in multiple international mission projects to help provide primary care access to impoverished communities. She holds strong values for equality and inclusion regardless of socioeconomic status. She wants everyone to feel comfortable being themselves in her presence. She speaks Spanish at a moderate level but will utilize translators to ensure thorough communication and understanding especially if it is a complicated medical discussion.

When Suzanne is not working, you will find her outside gardening, or enjoying time with her family and 2 dogs. She really likes Disneyland, hot cocoa, other people’s pets, roller-skating, music, dancing and singing.
