Whitney Gaines is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with dual licenses in California and Virginia.  Originally from Virginia, she earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Norfolk State University.  Whitney has experience working in a variety of settings including pediatric and adult acute hospitals, hospice, foster care and adoptions. In addition, she has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and seniors with various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.  She believes the foundation of building a trusting therapeutic relationship is providing compassion and empathy.  She works with her clients setting realistic and measurable goals allowing the client to have autonomy.  Whitney has experience providing evidence based practice such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy.  

In her free time, Whitney enjoys being walked by her dog, Prince Leo, hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
